Dear Doctor,

Current H1N1 Influenza Epidemic- Recent Update. Bhushan Katira

DIAGNOSTIC DILEMMA

Pediatric Oncall
A 9 month old boy with developmental delay presented with cough and fever since 3 days and 2 episodes of generalized tonic convulsions since 1 day. He had pallor, hyperpigmented fingers. CT brain showed bilateral subdural hematoma. What is the diagnosis?

Last fortnight's query of a 9 years old boy with fever for 6 months, jaundice for 3 months, hepatosplenomegaly, pancytopenia, positive EBV had several replies. Most of the viewers have advised to rule out Hemophagocytosis. The authors have replied that they ruled that out but the child died. They tentatively think that the child had chronic EBV.
