What D.D. do you suggest for a child of 4 months with R.D,fever,cough,lymphocytosis 90% ,neutrophil 6%,total count 16,000 ,esr 90mm ,CXR,bilateral mottled shadow ,PPD -ve ,PBF no abnormal cells ,bonemarrow no abnormal cells ,clinically few notes and hepatospleenomegally. Poor response to AT therapy ,although use of additional steroid ,reduced ESR to 30.

My 14 m girl has relapse of UTI with E.coli & klebsiella under prophylaxy with Cephalexin. Sonographic and conventional VCUG study was normal except Cystitist. her BW is 9 kg .Her bith W was 3160 g . she can not tolerate nitrofurantoin. My child age-9 months has been having fever on and off since 2 months.Initially we thought it was malaria and got her treated with anti malarial but the fever came back after 10 days ,then we tarted her for enteric fever with cefuroxime axetil for 14 days but on the 13th day she developed fever again.urine routine showed pus cell over 25 hpf .kindly guide us on what treatment to give.our pediatrician is not sure why the fever is occuring.

please let me the prognosis for a 9 year old child with a diagnosis of GLANDULAR FEVER .I do not have details except that antibodies to CMV are raised . does this mean it is infectious mononucleosis caused by EBV /CMV virus ,Are there long term implications , if so what can the parents look our for. the doctors here do not share information and i would like to help my friend with more than just reassurances and thanks for a good site .
